Rule the Depths with the Neptune Automatic
Neptune Ascending
Neptune is the Roman god of the sea and the Roman counterpart of the Greek god Poseidon. Originally the god of fresh water, Neptune is also a god of horses and horse racing, known as Neptunus Equester. Thus, Neptune’s traditional depiction as a physically superior man wielding a powerful trident (a three-pronged spear often associated with his power over the sea) is oftentimes depicted riding powerful seahorses. Considered the second most powerful god in Roman mythology, Neptune is the son of Saturn (the Roman equivalent of Cronus), and the brother of Jupiter, the Roman counterpart of Zeus. This is why Neptune is traditionally associated with nature’s awesome power such as hurricanes, storms and earthquakes.
Neptunalia, the Roman festival of Neptune, was held at the height of summer, usually on July 23 when the summer heat was at its hottest and water was at its scarcest. The Romans made sacrifices to Neptune during the festival so he would ease their water shortage during the summer. All horses stopped working during this period and were adorned with wreaths of flowers.
To pay homage to the Roman god of the sea, Italian watchmaker Filippo Loreti has released their own god of the oceans: the brand’s premier dive watch, which has been designed to capably navigate the historical waters of the Mediterranean (or any other body of water for that matter) called the Neptune Automatic.
Built for the deep and designed for the bold, the new Filippo Loreti Neptune Automatic is the paragon of robust luxury and is endowed with a familiar design aesthetic that speaks volumes about its capability and versatility. Whether on land or in the ocean, the Neptune Automatic is built to be its master, being perfectly at ease navigating the urban jungle whilst handling double duty as the King of the Seven Seas.
Indeed, the new Filippo Loreti Neptune Automatic is the Italian watchmaker’s toughest and most capable dive watch yet. And we’re talking serious ability here. Capable to the extreme, the 43mm stainless steel case of the new Neptune Automatic is rated for up to 30ATM of water resistance, that translates to 300 meters or 984 feet for the rest of us making Filippo Loreti’s toughest diver’s watch a professional grade timepiece that can take anything the seven seas can throw at it. In fact, the Neptune Automatic is the perfect tool watch made to honor the Roman god of the sea.
Best of all, the Neptune Automatic has the looks to back up its abilities. Starting with a stunning hand-crafted dial in either Abyssal Black or Mediterranean Blue, it features a unique texture pattern specifically chosen to enhance both its street cred and its water abilities. Complementing this are a cushion-shaped 43mm stainless steel case with both polished and brushed finishes; a scratch resistant sapphire coated crystal; robust sword shaped hands and complementing applied hour markers with luminous coating to ensure excellent readability no matter how bad the lighting conditions; a unidirectional bezel that provides excellent tracking; a contrasting red-colored “lollipop” seconds hand to ensure pinpoint accuracy; and to ensure the 300 meters of water resistance is a screwed in solid caseback with an engraved depiction of Neptune holding his trident.
Last but certainly not least, a sophisticated day-date window that harks back to the timepieces of the glorious 70s is on hand at 3 o’clock. And when boosted by the Japanese made NH36 self-winding movement that has been reported to have an accuracy range within -20 to +40 seconds per day, the Neptune Automatic is suddenly elevated to new levels of horological excellence. The movement boasts up to 41 hours of power reserve, oscillates at 21,600 BPH, and features 24 jewels, as well as a hacking seconds or stop seconds function that allows for precision time setting.
The Filippo Loreti Neptune Automatic is matched with a stainless-steel bracelet with a diving buckle to ensure comfort and reliability. And with its iconic design that effortlessly combines traditional classicism with modern engineering, the Italian watchmaker’s most robust diver’s watch takes underwater exploration to new levels of luxury and adventure. Not only does the Neptune Automatic upscale your game at work or during leisure time, but its rugged features also make it the perfect timepiece to accompany you into the sea as well as the urban jungle.
